Temple Baptist church has started an innovative children’s ministry opportunity for children in grades 5 and 6. We are asking children who want to be involved to ask your permission and fill out an application.

 

Involving your children in active ministry is an important step for their spiritual growth and stability. After a child has developed a ministry concept and seen God work through him, it is rare for that child to ever abandon his faith. This fortification of a child’s faith by involving him in ministry is particularly necessary for your preteen children who are already facing pressures and temptation that many of us never faced until adulthood.

 

Our training covers the biblical requirements for a church leader, personal devotions, praying in faith, the help of the Holy Spirit, and training in ministry to children. After the biblical training and thorough job descriptions, the students will enter training for the various types of ministry opportunities in the children’s church setting. It is an important step to train these kids to be involved in ministry in the church before they hit their teen years if we want them to:

•    stay in the church as they get older,

•    feel a need for spiritual growth,

•    participate in a way that helps them understand that they are an essential part of the body of Christ, and become spiritual leaders among their peers.

 

Fifth and sixth graders can be effectively incorporated into our children’s ministry department. Making this change will benefit the preteens by providing security in the transition from children’s to youth department, fill the gap of spiritual teaching between early elementary and teen levels, and allow needed ministry opportunity.

 

King’s Kids Crew will offer them the opportunity to lead worship, usher, greet children, keep track of attendance, work with younger children, and call children who have not attended for awhile. The training will be concentrated on Servant leadership and God’s view of a leader.

 

The requirements for this ministry are as follows:

•    Monthly Meetings: The last Sunday of the Month from 12-3pm. During this meeting we will ask each child to bring $3.00 for a pizza dinner!

•    Sunday morning set up and practice and Children’s Church: 10:15 through the 10:30 service and clean up.

•    One Day training session: call for dates and times
